Introduction
In October 1959 Central Scientific Instruments Organization Chandigarh (CSIO Chandigarh) was founded as a laboratory which functions on the research, design, and growth of scientific and industrial instruments. CSIO Chandigarh is a domestic instrumentation research laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of the Indian Govt. It’s located at Chandigarh city in India. The 1st manager was Piara Singh Gill.

Indo Swiss Training Centre
To help with the developing require of well prepared instrument technologists, the Indo Swiss Training Centre, (ISTC) was started in the year of December 1963 through then let PM of the India Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru with the co-operation of Swiss Foundation for Technical Assistance in Zurich, Switzerland.
