Sanjeewan Vidyalaya was launched in 1922 through two idealist brothers, Shri Raosaheb Pandit and Shri Krishnarao Pandit, as a training ground for the young – a training ground devoted to the fostering of Indian cultural values while furnishing excellent modern education. Sanjeewan Vidyalaya has Rural Training Center for rural development scheme assisted through UNICEF dealing the villages in the Kudal Valley to the south of the school campus. Below Sanjeewan Vidyalaya operates pre-primary centers for the villages, organizes orientation camps for the village primary teachers, and operates health education programmes with the assistant of the school children, staff and other voluntary workers.

Rural Training Center operates ‘Balwadis’ in a dozen villages in the vicinity of the school. Health checkups are a regular feature, and assists in operating epidemics in the monsoons. Rural Training Center has started the vocational training activity to provide abilities to the rural women. There, they practice the art of tie-and-dye, as one of the income generation programmes. Rural Training Center as well directs workshops on pattern for the children, thus bringing out the important facets of aesthetics and design.
